JoBeth Skelley grew up on a hobby farm outside of Arlington, Minnesota, with my parents and seven siblings. I have always loved animals, water, hiking, and camping. My summers involved playing in the creek by our home, enjoying our farm, and attending North Star Camp. Each year during family camp, we stayed in the cabins and enjoyed camp life, and then I would come for my own individual week of camp, as well. And later I worked in the kitchen as the assistant head cook. Through the years, many of my siblings attended Maplewood Academy and I was so excited to eventually go, too. I graduated from MWA in 2003 and moved to Idaho, where I attended North Idaho College. I studied graphic design for an art-filled year set right against the waters of beautiful Lake Coeur d' Alene. I later finished my associate degree in business administration from Globe University. I married my train engineer husband (Dennis) in my dream wedding ceremony at North Star Camp. We have 2 spunky children, Cali and Jackson. My love of Maplewood has brought me back not just once but twice now to work. The first time I came to work for Maplewood as the assistant girls’ dean and a cook in the cafeteria. This time around I am focused on cooking and baking in our cafe. I have a love for all things artsy. I draw, paint, and cake decorate, and I love cooking, baking, and spending time with my family.
