Jody Bertness
Food Service
As a Maplewood Academy alumna, who attended from 1987–89, Jody feels especially blessed to have returned to Maplewood, this time with the opportunity to work with and serve students each day. She sees her return as part of God’s leading in her life and believes food service is about more than serving meals—it’s an opportunity to care for students and show them God’s love in everyday ways. She especially enjoys working alongside her student employees, teaching them practical skills while helping them grow in responsibility, confidence, and teamwork.
Jody earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and she completed her dietetic internship through Andrews University.
Outside of work, Jody enjoys traveling, thrifting, floral arranging, and creating beautiful art for her Etsy shop.
