After attending Maplewood Academy as a student, I knew Adventist education would be in my future. I could feel that calling already. I grew up in Mankato, MN, and went to public school until my 10th grade year. Before 10th grade began, I decided I might want to go to Maplewood and the Lord provided. Along with my time at MWA, I worked multiple summers at North Star Camp, which also continued to solidify my passion for working with youth. After graduating high school, I went to Southern Adventist University and got my B.A. in English education with a minor in history. For my first semester as a teacher, I was able to work at Maplewood teaching an English class. I then spent 2 wonderful years working at Southview Christian School in Burnsville, MN. I loved my time there, but I am so grateful to be back at Maplewood. Although I knew I wanted to work in academy, I never imagined I'd be at my alma mater. I am blown away by God's goodness. There is something special about Maplewood that leaves such a positive and uplifting impression on those who attend. I'm so blessed to be part of that experience with our students at MWA!
